Flashback Friday on the Fourth

Happy 4th of July Everyone!

We wish you all a safe and enjoyable holiday

Now some of you asked about our ramp on Monday
so here is a repost
of

Oh The Things We Do For Our Kids
(originally posted 10/25/2012)

Years ago our little McKenzie developed weakness in her back legs.
As it got progressively worse she was having trouble handling
the steps up to the wood deck.

So Dad built a ramp along side the deck for her.

Several years later we built a new larger deck and a ramp
for the pugs had to be part of the design.

Visitors get a kick out of seeing the pugs
run up and down their ramp
and the grandkids think it is fun also.

Fast forward to early this year.

Hazel had a nagging injury and
we needed to limit her jumping off of things.
There was a bench at the end of our bed
and a box at the end of the bench to help
them get up and down.

They would use the box and the bench to get up,
but jump from the bench down, bypassing the box.

So Dad to the rescue again!
He built this nice ramp for the kids.
 With matching carpet even!

Love you Dad!!!

  1. I love the ramps. When it's time to move to a farm, we are definitely going to incorporate some of those ideas. I have an idea to build a ramp or stairs that slid into a bench for hiding. We don't have a lot of floor space, and the foam stairs take up a lot of room.

  2. Have a wonderful 4th of july! With BBQ and tons of ice cream! That's a super cool ramp. Your dad has really golden paws and he knows what little pugs need :o) I had one too as I was a puppy. It was inflatable and I therefore I had it for just two days :o)

  15. Dearest friends,

Now that our very belated Father's Day Smiley Box was posted we would like to thank you with both our hearts and Angel Weenie's too for being a part of it. We know how shy some Daddies are and we have to say how proud we are of all of them that took part. Our Mommy would have lost her mind had she not had this project to work in while she was home alone but we are home again and everything is back the way it should be.

If you would like your own copy of the Smilebox we would be glad to send it to you.
Just send Mommy an e-mail and he will send it to you.
